Daily Painting - Cubist Waterfall

Image
Cubist Waterfall- Painting number 51 Work in Progress 6am  Ahhh!, I've been up all night and this is all I have completed. I am now going to stop, take the pooch for a walk and then go to my bed.   Cubism obviously is a painstaking process. Imagine me thinking I could get it all done in one night! Elena  zzzzzZ 2am  Two hours have passed, doesn't look like it's progressed much but that's because I have painted all of the white in. Cubism is quite tricky, especially my choice of overnight cubism. It is so easy to lose focus and view just a mass of crazy lines in front of you, to the point that you can no longer see your original intentions. You can feel a bit lost. I have added dots of colour to try to confirm what goes where to help me. Tricky , tricky, tricky stuff Elena xxX 12 Midnight I've planned my painting and checked out if I like my choice of colour scheme. I have decided that I'm going to use the colours straight from the tube to ke

Christmas window decorated

Image
I am finally getting into the Christmas spirit. Just finished the window decoration. Next the Christmas tree...  : ) I've recently been doing some night time photography in Leith Links Park. I discovered that I could draw using the night lights, bit like writing your name with a sparkler. Elena  xxX

Daily Painting - Edinburgh Castle complete

Image
Edinburgh Castle complete- Painting number 50 Daily Painting - Original Oil Painting on canvas paper 9x6.5 inches . I am so very very happy that this painting is finally complete. I decided to take a little longer than usual as this is painting number 50! Somehow that felt special. I am really pleased with the results, the colours are so rich. I'm loving the blue and chocolate brown combo. Today was the first day we got snow at Leith Links. Andy always says there are only two reasons it is ever acceptable to wake a woman, if someone famous has died or if it has snowed, otherwise you are in for trouble. It only snowed lightly, but it was good enough for me to go running outside with my woolly hat and snow boots. I'm also very Edinburgh with my panda gloves. Elena xxX

Daily Painting - Edinburgh Castle continues

Image
Edinburgh Castle continues- Painting number 50 in progress Daily Painting - Original Oil Painting on canvas paper 9x6.5 inches . I'm still painting the castle! I've had a day of bricks bricks and more bricks and then rocks rocks and more rocks. My German Shepherd puppy, Dax, has developed a new  habit . He's decided that he currently prefers to spend his life mostly upside down. Elena xxX

Daily Painting - Edinburgh Castle Hurricane day

Image
Edinburgh Castle Hurricane day-  Painting number  50 in progress Daily Painting - Original Oil Painting on canvas paper 9x6.5 inches . I was unable to finish this painting today as the wind got really fierce. I managed to sketch in the rocks (I love my Promarker pens for sketching!) but wasn't able to get all the paint on. I will complete it tomorrow.  Was a very odd day today, the wind whipped up a mass of leaves and they hit me in the face and it stung. There was a weather warning to stay indoors between 3PM to 9PM which I ignored, so getting a leaf slap serves me right. Most magnificent clouds though. Elena xxX

Daily Painting - Tuppence a bag

Tuppence a bag -  Painting number  48 Daily Painting - Original Oil Painting on canvas paper 9x6.5 inches . This is a painting of English Bull Terrier Sabre, and his owner. Everyone says she's like the Mary Poppins pigeon lady for dogs. All the dogs love her as she's always got pockets full of treats, they run to her from miles away. She's a wonderful little smiley lady and her dog is a massive scary looking English bull terrier, it's a funny contrast. Elena xxX
