Daily Painting - Pink Rose

Image
Pink Rose - Painting number  31 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 7x5 inches. Work in Progress After yesterday's attempt at painting a rose I swore I would never paint another rose ever ever again, as I found it so unbelievably tricky.  But then today, the sun was shining beautifully on my vase of flowers and making the pink rose's petals fabulously translucent and I felt that it would be a sin not to try and capture it. Well...I was right, I should never have tried to paint another rose.  Today has been pure painting hell. I didn't enjoy a single minute of it. I now feel absolute relief that it's finally over but I have back ache and a headache for my troubles. You see, I just couldn't get that translucent sunlight effect right, no matter how hard I tried. I have spent all day painting this tiny little oil and would now like to burn it. AHHHHHHHH. E lena xxX

Scottish Forest - Painting number  23 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 7x5 inches. I'm feeling so much better about making up landscapes from memory today. I just needed to make the clouds softer and stop trying to put in too much detail. Quite happy with the results, which is not like me at all ! I have had such a nice chilled out day today with my cousin. So chilled out that I managed to complete two paintings instead of the usual one. My German Shepherd puppy Dax is 8 months old today! Here's the pics and vids I took earlier out in the park. Got to run now and carry on painting mini landscapes as I am hooked. Elena xxX .

Tori Nol  - Painting number  22 Daily Painting - Original Oil Paining on Oil Paper 7x5 inches. I'm still making up the landscape, tried out one of my tiny oil papers for this one. It's quite sweet. Think I got the colour ranges of the hills right. Looks like highland colours. Elena xxX

Daily Painting- Storm in the park

Storm in the park  - Painting number  21 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 20x16 inches. I decided to stick with the made up landscape theme again today. My sister Vic and cousin Lou have joined in with my painting obsession and we've taken over the floor. We have completely different styles and techniques but are equally messy. Going to get back to it, they can paint 4 paintings to one of mine so I have catching up to do. Elena xxX .

Daily Painting - In the shadow of the Truffinch tree

In the shadow of the Truffinch tree  - Painting number  20 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 10x7 inches. I've got my cousin Louise coming over today and I'm soooo very excited : ) Spent most of the day so far out walking with Dax. It's very very windy here and cold enough to need gloves (I need to find mine!) but we still have wonderful clouds and blue skies again. Stupidly I didn't take my sketch book or paints out walking with me. As I have guests arriving about 8 tonight, I am going to have to spend the rest of the afternoon giving the old place a good hover and polish before they get here. It just needs cleaning to the point that I don't feel ashamed of not being any good at housewife business (can I be excused as I am not a wife....). Cleaning is secondary to a whole bigger list of more important things to do. Cleaning has gone..dare I say it...to the dogs. I was thinking that my semi realist style of painting is a pain when you don

I'm back : )

Sabrewulf screen shot  - Painting number  19 Sabre Wulf screen shot - Original Oil Painting on Box Canvas.  SOLD. Hiya everyone, been a while hasn't it. I've been working on the painting above for a week and it is finally complete. Sabre Wulf is a ZX Spectrum game which was released in 1984. It was developed by Tim and Chris Stamper and published by Ultimate. It was one of the most memorable tropically colourful games. I've also been told off for not updating my blog for so long... So, here's the update on how my German Shepherd puppy Dax has grown up while I have been away. He has still got lots of growing to do but is already over 5 stone at only seven months old. Think I got a lion.
