Daily Painting - Contemplating Flight

Image
Contemplating Flight  - Painting number  18 Work in progress Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 10x7 inches. It's like painting a bronze angel. Going to take another day with this painting as I want to do the tones in her hair justice, which means glazes. Update 03/04/13:- So much for a day! Been working on the bronze angel for a year now, every now and then I add a glaze. I think her face is nearly complete and I've j ust added the bright glazes to her hair. Two weeks time when that is dry the darker glazes will go over the top. At the moment her hair is on fire. She's come a long way from the original painting a year ago, but she still has far to go. Daily Painting - Daffodils on a hilltop

Image
Daffodils on a hilltop  - Painting number  17 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on Oil Paper 10x7 inches. I woke up this morning and it was pouring with rain. I thought that I was going to have to stay indoors and paint fruit. At midday I went for my daily walk and the sky cleared and it has been warm and sunny all afternoon. I walked to the top of a hill and sat on the grass, well actually I sat on my bag on the grass as everything was still a little rain drenched. This is the view. I felt like the daffodils were sentinel watching over the landscape while I painted. .

Daily Painting - Australis

Image
Australis  - Painting number  16 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on canvas panel 9x6.5 inches .  SOLD. Caught this little kitten, ears back and all fluffed up, ready to pounce on a fly. She is going to be trouble. I'm off to watch a documentary on BBC 4 about cloudspotting. They've just said that our facination with clouds could come from when we are babies lying in our prams staring at the sky and now they're about to make clouds in a plastic bottle... It's got my attention, so I have to run. .

Daily Painting - Victoria Young

Image
Victoria Young  - Painting number  15 Daily Painting - Original Oil  Painting  on canvas panel 9x6.5 inches .  SOLD. When I started this blog it wasn't my intention to paint a picture every day, I only meant to paint every day. But so far...every week day for over two whole weeks now, I have created something new!  I think I am making great improvements.  This portrait is my favourite painting so far. As always, the photography doesn't do it credit. The fact that the paint is still wet doesn't help. The photo has captured the warm tones but there are also layers of cool tones which don't show. .
